Our Sunday worship community has demonstrated their generosity and aloha by their giving. The Mystical Rose Oratory took up a collection on Sunday, April 19 to help with the relief efforts in Chuuk, specifically giving to the Caroline College Pastoral Institute (CCPI). Chaminade University is home to many students from Chuuk, whose island home was shaken by a deadly typhoon. In solidarity with our students and CCPI, whom Chaminade has a partnership, the proceeds from the April 19 collection will help with the relief efforts. The total from the April 19 collection totaled $1,048.
At the Sunday, May 3 Mass, the community was asked once again to help send our youngest music minister, Kendall Fujita, to the music formation program in Minnesota, Music Ministry Alive (MMA). MMA gives young musicians formation as liturgical music ministers for the Church. The students work closely with a liturgical musician who is a professional in the liturgy. The proceeds from the collection will help with Kendall’s travel expenses as well as registration and housing. The total from the May 3 collection totaled $1,199.
On behalf of Campus Ministry, mahalo for your generosity. Please be assured of our prayers as you continue to support our initiatives and programs.
