About Paepae o He’eia

Paepae o He’eia which is a private non-profit organization dedicated to caring for He’eia Fishpond – an ancient Hawaiian fishpond located in He’eia, Ko’olaupoko, O’ahu. Paepae o He’eia relies heavily on a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer base to get much of the restoration and rehabilitation work completed. They have large volunteer days on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of most months during the year. Tasks include moving rock and coral, filling buckets, hauling floating barges through the water, cutting/pulling out invasive mangrove, invasive limu removal, trash pickup, and reconstruction of the kuapā. Our students who attend normally get down and dirty and really put in the work to help contribute to this cause, and had fun in the process! Since we go every year we see how much has progressed from the last time we were here. It’s a great opportunity for our students to learn more deeply about the efforts of Paepae O He’eia and why what they do here is so important to our islands, to the ʻĀina, and the people living here on the islands. Their Saturday Community Workdays are every 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 8:30AM to 12PM or Weekdays 8AM to 12PM, you must RSVP for both, please check out their website https://paepaeoheeia.org/ for more info! #paepaeoheeia #cuhministry #WeAreChaminade #MarianistFoundersWeek

ATTENTION: Location for event is constantly changing, as the work on the fishpond is progressing, the workday stage site will be announced the week of event.
