MISSION STATEMENT
Empowered by the Holy Spirit and inspired by the dynamism of Blessed Chaminade’s charism, we – brothers and priests – vowed religious in the Marianist Family, live in community as equals. Through lives of prayer and Gospel Service, we dedicate ourselves to the following of Jesus Christ, Son of God become Son of Mary. Wherever we are sent, we invite others to share in Mary’s mission of making Christ present in every age and culture by forming persons and communities of apostolic faith that advance justice and reconciliation. Committed to education, we minister with youth and in solidarity with the poor.
Mission and Purpose of the Marianist Center of Hawaiʻi
The Marianist Center of Hawai’i is sponsored by the Society of Mary, the Marianists, a Catholic religious order dedicated to Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the First Disciple. The Marianists were founded by Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, a man dedicated to re-establishing a renewed Christian faith in a society which had spurned religion.
The purpose of this Corporation is to engage in the educational, moral and spiritual care of people in Hawai’i, and to give them the opportunity and means to worship at Mystical Rose Oratory on the campus of Chaminade University and St. Louis School. Through its Office of Special Ministries, the Marianist Center sponsors and conducts workshops and conferences on religion, liturgical arts, religious life and religio-socio concerns.
