Bro. Brandon Professes Permanent Vows as a Marianist Brother

In a celebration filled with ancient Christian symbolism and Polynesian cultural expressions of faith, Bro. Brandon K. Alana-Maugaotega, S.M. gathered with his family, community, and closest friends and collaborators to profess his perpetual vows in the Society of Mary. Marianist Provincial, Rev. Martin Solma, S.M. was the main presider and homilist, supported by Deacon Francis Leasiolagi and with presbyters of the Society of Mary as concelebrants.

The hour-long Mass included Hawaiian chants; a separate procession for the Word of God as it was formally enthroned and a festive offertory procession complete with a young maiden dressed in fine mats dancing-in the gifts and a lei for the altar, both processions as customs common to the Church in Samoa.

Following the Mass was a pupu reception and dinner complete with local Hawaiian music and hula.
