We will have two community service opportunities next week, both at Next Step Shelter. Volunteers will serve the families meals that Aramark prepared.
A number of students will also have a chance to play with the children of families at the shelter. The few moments that our students share with the little children allows their parents a couple minutes of adult time with each other.
We hope that students who come to volunteer at Next Step will have a chance to engage with the residents, understand their unique situation, and learn more about the social issues of unemployment and the lack of affordable housing.
